A Different Kind of Sustainability

At Stone & Game, sustainability isn't about buzzwords. It's about a simple idea: the most sustainable object is the one you never need to replace.

Made to Last

The biggest environmental cost of any product is the moment it ends up in a landfill. Cheap, mass-produced goods are designed to be thrown away. Marble is the opposite. It outlives generations.

When you buy a Stone & Game chess set, you're buying something that won't need replacing in five years, twenty years, or fifty years. That's the real definition of sustainable.

Natural Materials

We work exclusively with natural stone — marble and onyx. No plastics, no synthetic resins, no composite materials that can't be recycled. Just stone that was already part of the earth long before we touched it.

Slow Production

Everything we make is produced in small batches by hand. We don't overproduce. We don't run promotions to clear excess stock. We make what's ordered, with care, and ship it directly.

This means less waste, fewer emissions, and pieces that arrive with intention rather than urgency.

Thoughtful Packaging

Our packaging is plain, sturdy, and recyclable. We use double-walled cardboard, natural padding materials, and minimal printing. No glossy boxes designed for landfill.

Shipping with Care

Marble is heavy, and shipping carries an environmental cost we don't ignore. We consolidate shipments where possible and prioritise carriers with carbon-offset programs for international orders.

Built for Inheritance

The most meaningful thing we can say about sustainability is this: we hope you pass your Stone & Game pieces on. To a child, a grandchild, a friend. That's how an object becomes truly sustainable — not by being recycled, but by being kept.
